Your hospital is at the ready, whatever comes.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, PRHC’s frontline workers and leaders worked tirelessly under well-planned protocols and procedures designed to protect patients, themselves and the wider community while providing great care. Since the beginning of the crisis, PRHC has:

Donor-funded tools and supports are aiding and protecting PRHC patients and staff.

At the start of the crisis, the PRHC Foundation and its donors moved quickly to support PRHC’s most urgent pandemic-related priorities through a COVID-19 response fund and a matching gift initiative. Donations helped equip, support, and maintain the extraordinary changes undertaken at PRHC in a short period of time. Thank you to everyone who supported our frontline healthcare professionals and their patients!

Your donations to the COVID-19 response fund helped protect frontline workers, prevent the spread of infection, and support vulnerable patients and their families. Thanks to the community’s generosity, we were able to immediately fund a crucial supply of additional scrubs for staff and physicians, as well as new plexiglass screening stations at hospital entry points to assess everyone entering the building. Your donations have also funded new iPads and supportive equipment, making it possible for palliative patients to connect with family members and friends who are unable to visit them due to the current visitation policy in place to keep patients safe. Donations have also helped fund some of the additional accommodation costs, such as cleaning and sanitation, for PRHC healthcare workers who chose to isolate in residence space donated by Trent University while working on the front line.

PRHC is re-introducing non-urgent care.

Now that the government directive that required hospitals to reduce non-urgent care to minimal levels has been lifted, your hospital is gradually increasing previously suspended clinical services. For the most up-to-date information on what services are available, please visit prhc.on.ca.

Ensuring the ongoing safety of patients, physicians, nurses and staff is paramount. While the hospital is diligently implementing a staged plan to re-introduce non-urgent care, PRHC remains at the ready to quickly respond to COVID-19 once again if necessary. And we hope you’ll continue to stand behind your hospital’s frontline healthcare professionals and their patients, whatever comes.

Because even while PRHC is prepared to respond again to COVID-19, and to continue doing so for as long as necessary, we can’t forget the many other patients who urgently need our help. A health crisis can strike anyone at any time, even when the world finds itself in a global pandemic.

Ensuring PRHC’s doctors, nurses and staff have the equipment and technology they need to save lives while protecting their own is our mission and it’s never been more important than it is right now.

Join us and let’s stand behind PRHC’s dedicated physicians, nurses and staff.
